Albion - Watford 1-1 (0-1) 07/08

Damned ref. Bednar var helt kalrt onside. Sukk. Håper Albion straks får opp øynene for at små slurve feil som å ikke ha en mann ved stolpene på corner får store følger når en møter kvalifisert motstand.

Leon Barnett deservedly equalised for West Brom after Leigh Bromby's first-half strike had given promotion rivals Watford the lead.

The visitors went ahead when an unmarked Bromby headed Jobi McAnuff's corner in at the far post.

Four minutes after the break, poor marking allowed Barnett to head Zoltan Gera's free-kick beyond Richard Lee.

Roman Bednar put the ball in the net for the hosts late on but he was wrongly adjudged to be offside.

• West Brom boss Tony Mowbray:
"They are very hard to break down. They have got some big lads, defend their box very well and play it forward early and we gave then our customary goal start.

"In recent weeks we have clawed our way back from that and generally gone on to win matches but we didn't quite get there against Watford.

"Of course it was important not to lose the game but we felt as if we did enough to win it, but we could not get that second goal. We knocked on the door but it would not come."

• Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd:
"West Brom are a good side they will put you under pressure.

"It was a big test of character but we've been tested all season, results are a bit odd at this end of season.

"I don't question the players' character, we've got some great ones. They gave it their all, but we must turn some of these draws into wins."
